My client is a leading retail organisation looking for a high-level Senior FP&A Manager to join them on a 4–5 month contract. This is a critical "hit the ground running" role designed to provide stability and continuity during a period of team growth and maternity leave cover.
As a senior member of the finance team, you will act as a caretaker for our core planning and analysis functions. You will be the "safe pair of hands" ensuring their sales planning, real estate due diligence, and capital spend analysis is accurate.
Responsibilities:
- Real Estate Analysis & Due Diligence: Provide financial rigor for their property pipeline. You will use Excel-based models to assess the profitability of new store sites, conduct due diligence on potential deals, and ensure all store-related investments align with their growth strategy.
- Sales Planning & Forecasting: Lead the sales planning process using Hyperion Cloud. You will manage the "sales side" of the business, tracking performance against budget and ensuring forecasts are accurate and timely.
- Capital Committee & Spend Analysis: Act as one of the finance leads for capital investment. You will prepare ad-hoc financial analysis for the Capital Committee, vetting business cases for new spend and tracking the ROI on existing projects.
- Budgeting & Caretaker Duties: Provide initial support for the Finance Manager (Maternity Cover), overseeing general budget plans and business profitability analysis. You will help build forecasts for the leadership team.
- Business Partnering: Work closely with the Property and Operations teams. You’ll be the person they rely on for financial insights, helping non-finance stakeholders understand their budgets and the profitability of their projects.
About You:
- Senior-Level Operator: You are a seasoned Finance or FP&A Manager who can step into a new environment and add value from Day 1. You are comfortable working at a senior level and don't need significant hand-holding.
- Modelling Expert: You have a high level of proficiency in Excel. Whether it’s an ad-hoc capital analysis or a complex real estate model, you can build and manipulate tools that produce clear, actionable results.
- Systems Savvy: Experience with Hyperion Cloud (or similar cloud-based planning tools) is highly regarded, as is the ability to move between different software and manual Excel-based models.
- Retail Experience: While not strictly essential, a background in Retail or a multi-site business will help you understand our "rhythm" and the nuances of store-based profitability.
